Interior Designer in The Cotswolds

Ilze Reinke Interiors offers bespoke luxury interior design for private homes and boutique hotels across the Cotswolds. Work spans full home renovations, house redesigns and refined individual rooms, and each project respects the character of the property while supporting modern living.

From traditional Cotswold stone homes to contemporary countryside properties, interiors are created with warmth, balance and thoughtful detail.

An interior designer for Cotswold homes

Interior design in the Cotswolds needs a sensitive approach that balances architectural features, natural materials and practical living. Older stone houses often combine thick walls, low beams and small windows with later extensions that do not always connect well. Planning comes first: layout, light and how rooms are used through the day are resolved before anything decorative is chosen, so early decisions prevent costly changes later.

Materials are chosen to sit comfortably with stone, timber and lime, and for how they age as much as how they look on installation day.

Cotswolds project experience

Ilze Reinke Interiors designed a series of guest rooms and suites at Ellenborough Park, the country house hotel on the edge of Cheltenham in the Cotswolds, including the Kauto Star Suite, the Arkle Suite and The Horse Box private dining space. Beneath old beams and within historic rooms, each space was given its own character while standing up to daily hotel use. The project is named with the client’s permission and shown room by room in the Ellenborough Park case study. The same survey, layout and specification process applies to a private Cotswold house.

Private residential commissions are not always published. Ask to see relevant recent work at the first conversation.

How a Cotswolds project runs

1. An initial conversation about the brief, the building and the budget.
2. Survey and measurement of the property as it is.
3. Concept and layout, testing circulation, zoning and storage.
4. Detailed design across finishes, joinery, lighting and fabric.
5. Sourcing and procurement, with lead times tracked against the build.
6. Coordination on site through to installation and final styling.

Frequently asked questions

Do you work on period and listed Cotswold properties?

Yes. The plan is settled around existing features such as beams, fireplaces and original joinery, so period detail is supported rather than covered by later additions.

Can you work alongside a renovation or extension?

Yes. Project coordination with builders, joiners and trades is part of the service, so interior decisions keep pace with the build programme.

Is interior architecture part of the service?

Layout, circulation, joinery and lighting design are resolved as part of every full home project through space planning and layout. Structural design and planning drawings remain with an architect or engineer.
